COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is specifically designed for those who have a responsibility for providing treatment to patients who need medical gases administrating in Pre-hospital care environments, such as: those working in the police force, fire service, military or private ambulance and security sector.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
Successful delegates will develop the skills and knowledge needed for the safe, prompt and effective use of administering oxygen in an emergency.
COURSE CONTENT
Topics covered include clinical need for oxygen therapy, oxygen delivery devices and administering emergency oxygen.
PREREQUISITES
Delegates must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the training.
Before they can register on to this qualification, delegates must have:
- Successfully completed a minimum of a Level 3 First Aid at Work (QCF or RQF) (FAW) or higher level first aid/emergency care qualification or QA recognised equivalent, and
- Knowledge/awareness of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
