COURSE OVERVIEW
This QA Level 3 Award in Administering Emergency Medical Gases (RQF) qualification forms part of the QA Pre-hospital Care qualifications. It will provide the delegate with the knowledge and understanding to be able to administer emergency medical gases in a pre-hospital care setting.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The QA Level 3 Award in Administering Emergency Medical Gases (RQF) qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of:
- Resuscitation Council (UK)
- Skills for Health Assessment Principles for First Aid Qualifications
- The British Thoracic Society
- UK Ambulance Services Clinical Practice Guidelines 2016 (JRCALC)
The award has been specifically designed for those who have a responsibility for providing treatment to patients who need medical gases administrating in Pre-hospital care environments, such as: those working in the police force, fire service, military or private ambulance and security sector.
COURSE CONTENT
Delegates will develop the necessary knowledge and skills needed for the safe, prompt and effective administration of emergency oxygen and analgesic agents. Topics covered include pre-operational inspections and how to monitor and record its effects.
PREREQUISITES
- All delegates must be over 18 years of age
CERTIFICATION
All successful delegates will receive a certificate and ID card covering their training for 3 years
