Basic Climber Training

BASIC CLIMBER TRAINING COURSE OVERVIEW

This Basic (occasional) Climber Training course is aimed at candidates who need to gain access to open steelwork, such as telecoms masts and towers, but less regularly than an Advanced Climber. The course covers all aspects of basic height safety as well as basic climbing techniques & an overview of typical rescue scenarios.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

The Basic Climber Training course covers all aspects of basic height safety along with climbing techniques (both practical and classroom based), rescue considerations, RF Hazards and a basic introduction to rescue and suspension trauma.

BASIC CLIMBER COURSE CONTENT

Legislation for Work at Height, Hierarchy of Control for Work at Height risk assessments & Method Statements climbing techniques. Practical application of climbing techniques using Taskmasters indoor training towers. We also cover JSP 375.

PREREQUISITES

  • All candidates must be over 18 years of age and must complete a medical questionnaire confirming their ability to complete the course.
  • Qualified to Working at height & Harnesses awareness.

CERTIFICATION

All successful trainees will receive a certificate covering their training for 2 years with a 1 day refresher training required at least 1 year.

WHAT TRAINING CAN I COMPLETE AFTER BASIC CLIMBING TRAINING?

Once you have completed your training we recommend you attend Advanced Climber Training and to future enhance your skills to attend Tower Rescue Training Course and First Aid.
