OCCASIONAL CLIMBER TRAINING COURSE OVERVIEW
This Occasional Climber Training course is specifically aimed at candidates who need to gain access to open steelwork such as telecoms masts and towers, but less regularly than an Advanced Climber. The course covers all aspects of basic height safety as well as basic climbing techniques & an overview of typical rescue scenarios.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The Occasional Climber Training course covers all aspects of basic height safety as well as climbing techniques (both practical and classroom based), rescue considerations, RF Hazards and a basic introduction to rescue and suspension trauma.
OCCASIONAL CLIMBER COURSE CONTENT
Legislation for Work at Height Hierarchy of Control for Work at Height risk assessments and Method Statements climbing techniques. Practical application of climbing techniques using Taskmaster indoor training towers.
- All candidates must be over 18 years of age and must complete a medical questionnaire confirming their ability to complete the course.
- Qualified to Working at height and in use if Harnesses.
All successful trainees will receive a certificate and ID card covering their training for 3 years with a 1 day refresher training required at regular intervals of at least 1 year.
WHAT TRAINING CAN I COMPLETE AFTER OCCASIONAL CLIMBING TRAINING?
Once you have completed your training you can attend the Advanced Climber Training and learn more advanced techniques.
We also recommend that you attend the Tower Rescue Training Course.
