Under the Working at Height Regulations 2005, it is now the responsibility of
companies themselves to have a rescue plan in place in the event of a worker
falling.
Companies with personnel working at height without a rescue plan in place face
possible prosecution by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), which can lead to
a fine or even imprisonment. Harnesses and other fall protection equipment (FPE)
go a long way towards the safety of your staff whilst on site, but if a fall was to
occur the emergency services are no longer obliged to retrieve a person from a
fall arrest scenario.
There are many variables to consider when planning rescues and can vary from site
to site and can be very complex in their nature.
Taskmasters offer a consultancy service, where one of our surveyors will attend site
and complete a full report on the requirements of all workers working at height and
will provide a comprehensive rescue plan.
RESCUE RESPONSE TEAMS
Taskmasters also provide site based or emergency call-out rescue technicians who
can cover contracts for customers who might need a urgent solution to challenging
access areas that would normally be hard to access or provide a rescue from.
Chaperones provide peace of mind for personnel who may become trapped in a
confined space or suspended whilst at height saving valuable time whilst the
emergency services are called to site. We act as the 4th Emergency Service,
instigating the contact with the First Aid Team on site as well as the Emergency
Services, arranging the personnel to assist in casualty retrieval and completing the
rescue itself.
All Taskmasters Chaperones are fully trained industrial abseilers that can
provide both self and assisted rescues using their own abseil equipment as well as
rescue equipment specific to the needs of the site. In some cases multiple chaperones
can be provided to cover the potential rescue of
multiple workers if required,
