COURSE OVERVIEW

This Rope Access Operator BS 7985-2013 in conjunction with ISO 22846 Training course is suitable for operatives needing to access areas through working at height in suspension via rope access methods.

The course will also cover techniques used for example vertical/horizontal access via ropes and will cover basic rescue methods of an incapacitated casualty. The course will also cover the use of (PFPE) This will cover the understanding suitability and selection of the required items within the role.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

The aim of the Rope Access Operator BS 7985-2013 in conjunction with ISO 22846 Training course is for delegates to understand their and their employer’s roles and responsibilities within the workplace in the use of personal fall protection equipment (PFPE) and methods used within industrial rope access to include.

  • Legislation/guidelines & code of practice for industrial rope access
  • Correct selection/use of equipment
  • Awareness of suitable anchorage points to include static and mobile systems
  • Methods of use covering access/egress to the workplace once suspended
  • Awareness of static and dynamic systems of work
  • Understanding of how to inspect Rope Access Equipment, including soft goods/textiles and hard goods/metallics
  • Understanding how to survey suitable anchorage points, in accordance with relevant standards

PREREQUISITES

  • Working at Height & Harness awareness certificate
  • Experience or confidence at height
  • Medical certificate to be able to climb/work at height

CERTIFICATION

All successful delegates will receive a certificate and ID card covering their training, which is valid for 2 years. Along with this comes a detailed manual covering Rope Access techniques coupled with technical advice.
