Rope Access Supervisor (BS7985-2013)

COURSE OVERVIEW

This Rope Access Supervisor BS 7985-2013 in conjunction with ISO 22846 Training course is suitable for rope access personnel, who have obtained the operator level qualification standard. The course will also cover normal techniques used for example vertical/horizontal access via ropes and will cover all required rescue methods to an advanced level.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

The aim of the Rope Access Supervisor BS 7985-2013 in conjunction with ISO 22846 Training course is for delegates to understand their and their employer’s roles and responsibilities within the workplace in the use of personal fall protection equipment (PFPE) and methods used within industrial rope access to include.

  • Legislation/guidelines & code of practice for industrial rope access
  • Correct selection/use and management of all required equipment used in rope access
  • Understanding various types of anchorage systems including static and mobile systems
  • Methods of use and possible rescue covering access/egress to the workplace once suspended
  • Awareness of static and dynamic systems of work including anchorage systems and ropes and all shock absorbing devices needed in the place of work
  • Understanding of how to inspect Rope Access Equipment, including soft goods/textiles and hard goods/metallics

PREREQUISITES

  • Delegates must already hold a Rope Access Operators certificate to standard BS7985 or equivalent.
  • Working at Height & Harness awareness certificate
  • Experience or confidence at height
  • Medical certificate to be able to climb/work at height

CERTIFICATION

All successful delegates will receive a certificate and ID card covering their training for 2 years
