FAQ’S

Why do I need confined space training?

Many people die or are seriously injured in confined spaces each year in the UK. Those killed include many people working in the confined space and those who try to rescue them without them having sufficient training and equipment.

It is now the law that if you are involved with entering, controlling or supervising people involved with confined space work you must have received training. Failure to comply with The Confined Space Regulations 1997 can result in prosecution.

How long is my certification for?

All of our courses are certified for 2 years. However like all health and safety training, training can be refreshed at any time. (You can never have too much training!)

What is a confined space?

A confined space is a space of an enclosed nature where there is a risk of death or serious injury from hazardous substances or dangerous conditions like lack of oxygen. Most confined spaces are easy to identify like storage tanks, silos, pipes/tunnels, enclosed drains and many more. Other spaces maybe less obvious but equally as dangerous, for example rooms that are poorly/unventilated or those that are under modification or having work completed on them changing them to a confined space.

Taskmasters also offer Rescue Chaperone and Access services for confined spaces.
