Greenwich Maritime – Rope Access Cleaning and Maintenance

Taskmasters were contacted by the Museum because the museum had a very complex glass roof recently installed within the gallery section.

The glass roof is situated in Neptune Court, which is housed within the World Heritage Site. So understandably a professional organisation was needed that could work safely at height whilst carrying out a professional service.

The challenge was that due to the size of the dome the glass needed to be cleaned by technicians walking on the dome to the top and then working their way down. The safety features covered within the glass dome structure are that each glass section holds approximately 200kg, so enables access for individuals to work on the roof sections safely.

Taskmasters assisted in the cleaning/maintenance for several years and have since advised and carried out repairs to several areas of the structure since.
